User Manual — How To Set Up
Step 1 — Wire the Controller
Connect your power supply to the controller's input (anywhere from 5V to 24V, matching your LED strip's voltage). Connect the LED strip's data, + and − to the controller's output. Always keep a common ground between the controller and the LED strip.
The SP107E's onboard PCB is not designed to carry the full current of a large LED setup. If you connect more than about 5 metres of strip, do not run all the power through the controller — take only the GND (ground) and DATA from the SP107E, and feed the strip's +5V/+12V/+24V power directly from the SMPS (power injection). Running the full load through the controller's PCB can damage the board. For big setups, always power the LEDs directly from the power supply and use the controller for data and a shared ground only.
Step 2 — Install the LED Chord App
Download the free LED Chord app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone, open the app and connect to the SP107E. No WiFi router or internet is needed — the connection is direct over Bluetooth, and works up to about 30 metres.
Step 3 — Set Your IC & LED Count
In the app, select your LED IC type (for example WS2811, WS2812B, SK6812, or for TM1824 RGBW choose SK6812 RGBW), then choose your mode — Matrix mode for music spectrum patterns, or Linear mode for strips and single runs. Enter the number of LEDs you have connected (up to 960) so the effects map correctly.
Step 4 — Run Effects & Music Mode
Pick from 180+ effects and adjust colour, brightness and speed in the app. For music mode, choose between the built-in microphone (picks up room sound) or the external AUX input (feed audio directly for cleaner, more accurate sync). The lights will pulse, chase and colour-shift with the beat in real time.
