Lite vs Heavy — Which One?

Both models are the same 16-channel action chaser. The only difference is how much LED load each output port can drive:

Important — No Multi-Controller Sync

This chaser (both Lite and Heavy) does not support DMX or controller-to-controller sync. Two or more controllers cannot be linked to run the same animation together — each controller runs independently. For a bigger display, plan a single setup rather than syncing multiple boards.

Power & SMPS

Heavy model: each port drives up to 5 bunches (~50W/port). At full load that is ~80 bunches ≈ 800W. A single 600W (real ~400W) supply is not enough — the voltage will drop. Recommended: 2–3 × 12V 600W SMPS + power injection (feed power at multiple points).

Lite model: each port drives 1–2 bunches — a lighter total load that a single 12V 600W SMPS can handle comfortably.

How To Set Up (Wiring)

  1. Power the input from a 12V SMPS (VCC = +ve, GND = −ve).
  2. Common all LED POSITIVE (+ve) wires together and connect to the supply +ve terminal.
  3. Connect each LED line's NEGATIVE (−ve) wire to the 16 output channels (CH1–CH16). Outputs switch on the negative side (common positive).
  4. Wire gauge: at least 1.5 mm from the SMPS output; 1.5 mm common bus, thinner for single taps. On a large 16-channel setup, power injection is essential — otherwise the far-end bunches dim (voltage drop).
  5. Power on — animations start. Control with the speed knob and mode switch.

6-Month Warranty* against manufacturing defects only (controller board).

*Not covered: physical damage, water damage, wrong SMPS connection (reverse +/− polarity), connecting LEDs directly to 220V AC, or the controller/SMPS exposed to rain. Protect the controller and SMPS from rain — the LEDs themselves are waterproof.

What is the difference between the Lite and Heavy models?
The difference is per-port load capacity. The Lite model drives 1–2 LED bunches per port; the Heavy model drives up to 5 bunches per port. Choose Lite for smaller/lighter setups and Heavy for large displays with heavy LED loads.
Which LEDs does it drive?
Any 12V single-colour LED — strip or 50-LED bunch. Not for RGB / pixel / 5V LEDs.
How do I wire the chaser to the LEDs?
The outputs switch on the negative (−ve) side (common positive). (1) Common all LED positive (+ve) wires together and connect to the supply +ve. (2) Connect each LED line's negative (−ve) wire to the 16 output channels (CH1–CH16).
Which SMPS for 16 channels — will the voltage drop?
On the Heavy model, 16 ports × 5 bunches = 80 bunches ≈ 800W. A single 600W (real ~400W) supply is not enough — the voltage will drop. Use 2–3 × 12V 600W SMPS with power injection. The Lite model's lighter load runs on a single 12V 600W SMPS.
What wire gauge should I use?

Will it run from a 12V battery?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, including from a 12V battery — size the battery's Ah capacity to your load.
Can I use 5V or pixel LEDs?
No. It is for 12V single-colour LEDs only. Use a separate controller for 5V or pixel LEDs.
Can I connect a 220V light string to it?
No. It is for 12V single-colour LEDs only. Never connect 220V AC mains.
Can I install it outdoors?
Keep the controller in a weatherproof enclosure — the controller is not waterproof. Outdoor LED lights should be IP65-rated or higher.
Can multiple chasers be synced together?
No. This controller does not have DMX or sync support, so two or more chasers cannot be linked to run the same animation together. Each controller works independently.
