12V Pixel LED Belt (Patta) Complete Set — User Manual
This guide explains how to install, connect, and operate your Koshi Electronics 12V Pixel LED Belt Complete Set. The set arrives ready-made, so on-site assembly is minimal — just follow the steps below for a safe, reliable installation.
1. Box Contents
- 16 Bunch LEDs with 2-pin connectors
- 1 × Connection Belt (joins all 16 LED bunches)
- 1 × 12V 200W SMPS power supply
- 1 × 16-Channel Chaser controller
Covers a display area of approximately 20 ft (height) × 16 ft (width).
2. Before You Begin
- Choose a dry, sheltered spot for the SMPS and controller — keep both away from direct rain and water.
- Keep a 220V AC mains socket within reach of the SMPS.
- Basic tools: cable ties or clips for mounting, a screwdriver, and insulating tape.
- Make sure the AC supply is switched OFF while you wire everything up.
3. Installation — Step by Step
- Mount the LED bunches. Fix the 16 LED bunches across your surface (building outline, gate, or shop front) following your 20 × 16 ft layout. Space them evenly for a balanced chasing pattern.
- Connect bunches to the Connection Belt. Plug each LED bunch into its matching 2-pin connector on the connection belt. Each port corresponds to one channel of the chaser.
- Connect the belt to the 16-Channel Chaser. Attach the connection belt's output to the controller's output terminals, keeping the channels in order.
- Wire the Chaser to the SMPS. Connect the controller's DC input to the SMPS output — V+ to V+ (positive) and V− to V− (negative). Observe polarity carefully; reversed polarity can damage the board.
- Connect the SMPS to AC mains. Wire the SMPS AC input — L (Live), N (Neutral) and Earth — to your 220V AC supply. Always use the earth terminal.
- Power on and test. Switch on the mains. The LEDs will light up and begin running the built-in chasing animations automatically (see Section 4).
4. How the Animations Work
The 16-channel chaser comes pre-loaded with a fixed set of chasing animations. Once powered on, these animations play automatically — one after another — in a continuous repeating sequence.
- Automatic playback: The controller runs through all built-in animations on its own, with no setup required.
- Continuous repeat: When the sequence reaches the end, it starts again from the beginning and keeps looping.
- Please note: The animations cannot be locked or fixed to a single pattern. The controller is designed to cycle through every effect in sequence, one after another.
5. Power & Wiring Reference
| Operating voltage | 12V DC |
| Power supply | 12V 200W SMPS |
| Channels | 16 |
| Animations | Pre-loaded, auto-play on continuous loop (cannot be locked) |
| DC polarity | V+ to V+, V− to V− (do not reverse) |
| AC input | 220V — L, N, Earth |
6. Safety Guidelines
- Never connect the LEDs directly to 220V AC — they run on 12V DC only.
- Always match SMPS polarity (V+ / V−). Reversed polarity will damage the controller and LEDs.
- Keep the SMPS and controller in a sheltered, ventilated location, away from rain and water.
- Do not load the SMPS beyond its rated capacity.
- Switch off mains power before connecting or disconnecting any wiring.
7. Troubleshooting
- No LEDs light up: Check the AC supply, confirm the SMPS output is 12V, and verify DC polarity at the controller input.
- Some channels not working: Re-seat the 2-pin connectors on the connection belt and check for a loose bunch.
- Flickering or dim LEDs: Make sure the SMPS delivers a stable 12V and is not overloaded; tighten any loose connections.
- Animations not running: Confirm the controller has power and the DC connection from the SMPS is secure.
8. Care & Maintenance
- Inspect all connections before each festival or event season.
- Keep connectors dry; wipe away dust and moisture.
- Store the SMPS and controller indoors when not in use.
9. Warranty
6-month warranty on the 16-Channel Chaser controller against manufacturing defects only.* The 12V 200W SMPS power supply carries a 1-year guarantee. LED bunches are not covered under warranty.
*Not covered: physical damage, water damage, wrong SMPS polarity, connecting LEDs to 220V AC, or the SMPS/controller being exposed to rain.
