📖 User Manual

Premium KDN-brand 12V single-colour SMD LED string made with pure copper wire — the go-to choice for outlining buildings, Thorans, gates and festive décor. Bright, even light from the first LED to the last, built to last season after season.

🧲 All LED strings look the same. The wire inside is not.
Many low-priced LED strings use iron wire inside a coloured coating, so from outside they look exactly like ours. Our KDN strings use pure copper wire.

Check it yourself with a magnet: hold a magnet to the wire. Iron wire sticks. Copper wire does not. Try it on any LED string before you buy.

SMD vs DIP LED — Which Is Better?

Copper Wire vs Iron Wire — Why It Matters

Koshi KDN (Copper) Cheap LED (Iron wire)
Magnet test ✅ Does not stick ❌ Sticks
Brightness on long runs ✅ Even from first to last LED ❌ Last LEDs often look dim — iron carries current poorly
Rain & moisture ✅ Copper does not rust ❌ Iron rusts inside, joints fail
Bending & handling ✅ Flexible, easy to fit and store ❌ Breaks sooner when folded again and again
Repair & soldering ✅ Solders cleanly ❌ Hard to solder and repair
Reuse next festival ✅ Use it again and again ❌ Often needs replacing
💰 Real cost: one bunch covers about 20 feet — that is less than ₹5 per foot. A cheap string that has to be replaced next season costs you more in the end, plus the labour of fitting it again.

How Many Bunches Do I Need?

Measure the length you want to light and divide by 20. Each bunch uses about 6W, so pick a 12V SMPS with some spare capacity.

Length to light Bunches Power (approx) 12V SMPS
20 ft 1 6W 2A or above
100 ft 5 30W 5A
200 ft 10 60W 10A
500 ft 25 150W 20A

⚠️ 12V DC only. Never connect these LEDs directly to 220V mains — always use a 12V SMPS.

❓ FAQs
Why is this LED priced a little higher than market LED?
Because it uses pure copper wire. Many low-priced strings use iron wire that looks the same from outside. Copper gives even brightness on long runs, does not rust and can be reused every festival. One bunch covers about 20 feet, which is less than ₹5 per foot.
How can I check if an LED string has copper or iron wire?
Use the magnet test: hold a magnet to the wire. Iron wire sticks to the magnet; copper wire does not.
How much power does 1 bunch use?
About 6W per string (1 bunch). To choose an SMPS, multiply the number of strings by 6W and keep about 20% spare capacity.
Is it waterproof?
Yes. It is safe for building outlines, gates and outdoor Thoran decoration.
How many colours are available?
7 colours: Blue, White, Green, Warm White, Pink, Red and Yellow.
How many LEDs and how long is one bunch?
50 LEDs per bunch, about 20 feet, with 5-inch spacing.
Can I use it with a chaser?
Yes. It works perfectly with a 12V single-colour chaser for running and chasing effects.
Can I connect it directly to 220V?
No. These are 12V DC LEDs. Always use a 12V SMPS; connecting them to 220V mains will damage them.
Is this a pixel / WS2812 LED?
No. This is a 12V single-colour SMD LED, not a pixel/addressable LED.
What do I need for a DIY setup?
LED string + 12V chaser + 12V SMPS + ferrules + 2-pin connectors. Or choose our 12V Ready-Made Setup.
